Cost Savings and CO2 Emissions Reductions of Residential Electrification in Peoples Gas Territory

This report provides an in-depth analysis of electrification of single-family homes and individually metered multi-family homes with forced air heating systems in Peoples Gas’ service territory in Chicago, Illinois. The primary focus is on the financial impacts on homeowners, including both capital costs for equipment and appliances and energy bill impacts given current and expected future retail energy prices. It addresses both new construction and existing buildings, as well as both full electrification and partial electrification. NRDC also summarized the findings here.
