The Buildings Hub is an open-source online platform, created as a central source of information for the policy community. The goal of the Buildings Hub is to serve as a one-stop shop for market, policy, and technical information in advancing building decarbonization. Our guiding principles:

Greatly improve access to publicly available information through data aggregation.
Conduct advanced data analyses using sophisticated business intelligence software to gain market insights.
Identify best practices and share intelligence through crowdsourcing

Registering for the Buildings Hub is easy. The cost for access to the Buildings Hub depends on your organization; see the licensing fees below. The plain-English license agreement is available here.

User License Fee

U.S. State and Local Public Agencies and Tribal Organizations are granted free licenses to the Buildings Hub.

Industry

$500per user

Each license gives you one year of access to the Buildings Hub. A minimum of three user licenses is required for new companies with more than 10 employees. Note: Industry includes non-profit industry trade associations, industry member-based organizations, industry member-based organizations, 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) organizations.

Non-Profit Organization & University

$350per user

Each license gives you one year of access to the Buildings Hub. A minimum of three user licenses is required for new NGOs or Universities with more than 50 employees. Note: This category includes both public and private universities along with labor organizations. NGO does not include industry trade associations, industry member-based organizations, 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) organizations.

Independent/Sole Proprietor

$500per user

Each license gives you one year of access to the Buildings Hub.

Student

$250per user

Each license gives you one year of access to the Buildings Hub.

License Registration

Licenses provide 12 months of access. Let us know what kind of license you're requesting. For NGOs and companies, a coworker may have already attained licenses. We'll let you know. Note: Licenses are free for public agencies. Otherwise, you're required to buy a user license before we'll grant you access to the Buildings Hub.

By selecting this license type, you are agreeing to purchase a user license for Buildings Hub unless one has already been purchased for you by a co-worker. Please be sure to use the email address associated with your work (e.g., .edu for student and .org for NGO). If you have any questions, please contact us before registering.

We require students to register using your school email account. You cannot receive a student discount if you're registering as part of your job.

Hide User License Agreement

1. License. Subject to the terms of this agreement, Atlas Public Policy grants to you, a non sub-licensable, non-assignable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use the Buildings Hub platform. No ownership interest in the Buildings Hub is given to you with this Agreement. The License shall be automatically voided and terminated without notice if you violate the terms of this Agreement.

2. Restrictions on Use. With the license, you cannot assign this agreement or transfer, sell, lease, distribute, market, export or grant a sublease of the Buildings Hub or the license contained herein to anyone. You must also take all reasonable precautions to prevent unauthorized third parties or persons from accessing or using the Buildings Hub in a way that would constitute a breach of this agreement including, without limitation, such precautions as you would take to protect your own proprietary software, hardware or information.

3. Permitted Uses. You are granted a nonexclusive right to have and use the Buildings Hub’s data provided you comply with all of the terms and conditions of this License. You may use information on the Buildings Hub in the form provided by the Buildings Hub for your own internal business or organizational purposes and for no other purpose without permission in advance from us.

4. Sharing Your Content and Information. You own all of the content and information you share on the Buildings Hub. For content that is covered by intellectual property rights, you specifically give us the following permission: you grant us a non-exclusive, transferable, sub-licensable, royalty-free, worldwide license to use any intellectual property content that you post on or in connection with the Buildings Hub.

5. Termination and Data Retention. We may terminate this Agreement at any time, with or without cause. Upon termination, all copies of data or other information you’ve retrieved from the Buildings Hub shall be returned to us and no copies shall be retained by you.

6. Amendments. We’ll notify you before we make changes to these terms. Your continued use of the Buildings Hub, following notice of the changes to our terms, policies or guidelines, constitutes your acceptance of our amended terms, policies or guidelines.
