All people deserve to have healthy and inspiring places to live, work and learn. To construct the needed buildings and infrastructure AND meet global climate targets, we will need to transform how, what and when we build as well as the materials we use. Strong intersections between efforts to decarbonize energy, decarbonize industry and decarbonize the building sector are increasingly recognized. With this heightened consciousness of embodied carbon in the built environment, it is important to remember the role of the next generation in raising awareness and inspiring adoption of emerging best practices while exploring high-impact careers in the field. Join the Carbon Leadership Forum to hear from Troop 1477 of Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Badgerland, the Carbon Zero Youth Initiative, and a university level architecture student to hear about ways youth can support this movement and how building professionals and educators can empower young voices for change.
