Delaware’s 2024 – 2028 State Energy Plan outlines strategies to fulfill state energy goals, modernize an aging energy grid and pave the way for a resilient and equitable energy future. As we grow our collective understanding of Delaware’s energy profile and its evolution in the face of climate change, this plan serves as a living document to offer adaptive strategies that can shift alongside the changing times. The Delaware Climate Change Solutions Act of 2023 established statutory targets for greenhouse gas emissions reductions of 50% from a 2005 baseline by 2030, and achieving net zero emissions by 2050. Strategies for reaching those goals are laid out in Delaware’s Climate Action Plan, and include expansion of clean and renewable energy, increased energy efficiency measures and transitioning to zero-emission vehicles.
