Everyone deserves a healthy home, yet that’s not the case for many. Home energy bills are skyrocketing, indoor and outdoor air pollution from fossil fuels is at an all-time high, our climate is in chaos, and communities of color and low-income are facing these threats all at once – but, we have solutions!
Join us on Wednesday, January 28th at 12 PM for the launch of WE ACT’s Healthy Homes First campaign’s latest resource: “Healthy Homes, Thriving Communities: Principles for Equitable Building Decarbonization.” Buildings where we live, work, and play generate more than 30 percent of greenhouse gas emissions driving the climate crisis, while pollution from fossil‑fuel appliances like gas stoves and indoor hazards like lead, mold, and pests create serious health and safety risks. These burdens fall heaviest on low‑income households and communities of color, who face the worst impacts of extreme weather, carry the highest energy costs, and are too often left out of programs and investments that make homes healthier, safer, and more energy‑efficient.
Hear from experts and our strategic partners on these principles and local efforts to advance healthy homes and building decarbonization. Be part of this important conversation!
