Amid instability and federal rollbacks\, Midwest BDC is launching State Advocacy Days to advance bold\, community-centered climate action rooted in energy and utility justice. On February 5th\, we mobilize in Iowa\, bringing together everyday Iowans\, coalition members\, and climate champions from Des Moines\, Cedar Rapids\, Davenport\, Iowa City\, Ames\, Waterloo\, and Sioux City. SUMMARY:Midwest BDC Federal Policy Working Group
DESCRIPTION:The Inflation Reduction Act’s Home Energy Rebate Programs include 8.8 billion dollars for energy efficiency rebates. States have until January 2025 to apply for funding from the national Department of Energy\, and states are required to hold public input hearings to inform their applications. \nOur Federal Policy Working Group created a Talking Points Toolkit and hosted virtual Training Prep Sessions to equip advocates to attend these public input hearings and advocate for accessible and equitable rebate programs.
