SUMMARY:2024 Hot Water Forum & Hot Air Forum
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Hot Water Forum (HWF) is the premier technical conference dedicated to efficiently producing\, distributing\, using\, and reusing hot water. Since its inception in 2008\, this two-day conference has brought together seasoned experts and newcomers to exchange knowledge\, foster innovation\, and help drive market transformation. \nIn addition\, ACEEE presents the second Hot Air Forum (HAF)\, focusing on decarbonizing space heating in buildings of all kinds through heat pumps. Both conferences will explore how these industries can reduce greenhouse gas emissions\, improve grid resilience\, and center equity. \nThe HAF will kick off the event in Atlanta\, Georgia\, from March 12 to 13\, then transition to the HWF\, March 13 to 14. The events will overlap on the 13th\, a full day of collaborative sessions covering the intersections between space and water heating. \nPrevious HWF/HAF gatherings have attracted diverse attendees\, including equipment and component manufacturers; water\, gas\, and electric utility professionals; and local\, state\, and federal agency representatives. SUMMARY:Bringing Energy Efficiency to Underserved Households: Examples to Emulate
DESCRIPTION:Energy efficiency can produce numerous economic\, health\, and environmental benefits\, but most utility and third-party programs do not adequately serve the households that would stand to gain the most\, such as renters and low-income households. \nJoin us to learn about a new ACEEE toolkit highlighting best practices for increasing program participation among underserved residential customers. We will discuss strategies for programs to better reach all underserved households as well as specific strategies for reaching renters\, income-eligible households\, and rural households. Attendees will also hear from guest speakers who have successfully incorporated many of the strategies into their programs.

DESCRIPTION:In April\, ACEEE will host a half-day virtual symposium to spotlight global leaders in energy efficiency\, with a particular focus on opportunities for improvement in the United States. The virtual format\, with recordings of all sessions online\, and the no-cost registration will make it easy for people from all countries to attend. \nAt this event\, we will release our 2022 International Scorecard\, which examines the energy efficiency policies and performance of the world’s top-25 energy-consuming countries. The scorecard evaluates countries based on 36 metrics and shows how all can substantially reduce energy use and emissions.

This symposium will explore the wide range of strategies we have at our disposal and share leading examples where climate-forward actions are being taken today. \nParticipants will learn from and engage with experts from across the United States that have successfully approached the nexus of energy efficiency programs and decarbonization. Attendees will also gain crucial insights from ACEEE’s newest report\, A Roadmap for Climate-Forward Efficiency\, which introduces multiple strategies to accelerate climate-forward efficiency through legislative\, regulatory\, and utility actions. Informed by an extensive stakeholder engagement process\, these strategies are rooted in demonstrable best-practices and can be adapted across geographies. \nThis symposium will reconvene in early March with a small number of working sessions to plot a practical course forward for climate-forward efficiency across the country.
