SUMMARY:NEEP Case Studies
DESCRIPTION:Designed for attendees to benefit from shared knowledge and experience of those who have “been there”\, case study sessions include presentations coupled with an extended audience Q&A segment. There are three case studies: \nACE in the Hole: Shared Energy Managers\nNot having a full-time energy manager doesn’t have to be a hindrance for communities. There is an alternative: shared energy managers. This case study will highlight the Achieving Community Efficiency (ACE) project\, a multi-year DOE-funded project where several communities worked together to share an energy manager. Join us to discuss the benefits of this type of program and how to set one up. \nThe ABCs of K-12 Retrofits\nThe American Society of Civil Engineers gave America’s public K-12 infrastructure a D+ in its 2021 Report Card. Many communities don’t have adequate budget or staff to properly maintain\, update\, or replace school buildings\, but this case study will highlight successful examples of existing school projects that address health and energy improvements. Join us for tips on becoming the teacher’s pet as new federal dollars become available for school retrofit projects that prioritize underserved communities. \nState Plans for Impact\nState leaders discuss their high-level plans for utilizing funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for energy efficiency\, economic development\, electrification and equity. Focus will be on the $62 billion to be administered by the Department of Energy\, but plans for Department of Transportation or other programs will also be addressed.
