SUMMARY:2023 Hot Water Forum & Hot Air Forum
DESCRIPTION:The 2023 Hot Water Forum (HWF) comes at a critical—and promising—time. The emergence of new water-heating technologies combined with the investments in building decarbonization and workforce development made by the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act and the Inflation Reduction Act creates the opportunity for significant market transformation. This is a pivotal moment for the hot water industry to reduce greenhouse gas emissions\, improve grid resilience\, and center equity. \nIn addition\, ACEEE presents the inaugural Hot Air Forum (HAF)\, which will focus on decarbonizing space heating given the monumental federal funding opportunities. This forum will precede the HWF and include a day to discuss the crossover between space and water heating. \nLikely participants: Equipment and component manufacturers; water\, gas\, and electric utility professionals; local\, state\, and federal agency personnel; energy efficiency program planners\, operators\, and evaluators; plumbers and installers; policymakers; NGOs; engineers; consultants; and other experts. \nRegistration and lodging information will be available mid-December.

SUMMARY:What does it cost to electrify a cold climate city?
DESCRIPTION:CEE has concluded a first-of-its-kind project with the City of Minneapolis to answer a previously unanswered question: What would it take\, with today’s technology\, to decarbonize all 88\,000 one-to-four-unit residential buildings in the city? \nJoin this webinar to hear the program team describe the analysis\, findings\, and recommendations to the City.

SUMMARY:Buildings Hub Live: Public Health and Electrification
DESCRIPTION:Atlas Public Policy is excited to host our sixth episode of “Buildings Hub Live\,” where we spotlight the changemakers and technologies leading the charge to electrify our built environment. Join us on Wednesday\, March 22 at 1:30 PM EST as we sit down with Brady Seals\, Manager of the Carbon-Free Buildings Program at RMI\, and Ruth Ann Norton\, President and Chief Executive Officer at the Green & Healthy Homes Initiative\, to discuss the critical intersection of public health and building sector electrification. What are the short- and long-term health impacts of gas stoves and other building-related fossil fuel infrastructure? How are other environmental hazards\, like mold\, lead\, or poor ventilation\, related to building decarbonization? What are the positive health benefits of electrifying your home or office? Tune in to find out!
