SUMMARY:Summit 2026 | The Power of Us
DESCRIPTION:At NEEP\, collaboration is more than a principle — it’s our foundation. Our work has never been a single voice — it’s the chorus. The “us” is every partner\, every community\, and every leader ready to drive our region toward an affordable\, clean\, and resilient energy system. For more than three decades\, that collective force has brought together practitioners\, policymakers\, utilities\, businesses\, and community voices to advance energy efficiency and strengthen our regional economy. \nToday\, rising energy costs\, accelerating load growth\, and intensifying climate pressures have put our region at a true inflection point. The fundamentals of energy efficiency matter more than ever. Summit 2026 is where collaboration turns to action — a place for us to share insights\, align strategies and power progress towards meeting the next era of energy challenges. \nThrough interactive sessions\, panel conversations\, and opportunities to build lasting partnerships\, attendees will explore tangible\, actionable solutions that strengthen affordability\, accelerate efficiency\, and support a modern\, equitable\, and resilient energy system. Together\, we will examine what it takes to scale what works\, unlock solutions\, and build the relationships needed to keep our region moving forward.

SUMMARY:Mechanical Insulation: Covering What Matters
DESCRIPTION:Mechanical insulation systems are defined as the materials and components used to insulate piping\, equipment\, vessels\, ducts\, and other types of mechanical items. Mechanical insulation is often overlooked as an efficiency measure that generates significant savings.\n\nJoin the Maryland Clean Buildings Hub for a webinar with the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers (Insulators International) where we’ll discuss efficiency benefits of mechanical insulation investments and funding and technical assistance resources. There will also be an opportunity for audience Q&A.

SUMMARY:Bridging the Equity Gap: How to Ensure Utility Efficiency Programs Serve Struggling Families Amid Rising Energy Costs
DESCRIPTION:Households that spend more than 6% of their income on energy bills are considered energy burdened\, and may struggle to pay energy bills. Households with high energy burdens are more likely to also experience adverse health impacts and other forms of economic stress. In the United States\, low-income households carry energy burdens roughly three times higher than households with higher incomes. Increasing energy efficiency of these homes can help reduce energy bills and energy burdens. And while utility investment in efficiency programs specifically targeted to meet the needs of these households has increased over the last decade\, utilities are still under-investing in these critical programs\, leaving an equity gap to fill. \nJoin us to learn about new research benchmarking this equity gap in utility investments into the energy efficiency of low-income households. We will share key findings including a suite of exemplary policies\, programs\, and practices that can help to close these equity gaps. Attendees will also hear from speakers who will provide perspectives on how utility efficiency programs need to evolve to meet the needs of income-qualified households. Together\, we will explore program designs that deliver energy savings and reduce energy burdens as well as policy strategies that help make these programs more equitable and successful.
