SUMMARY:2026 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings
DESCRIPTION:The 2026 Summer Study on Energy Efficiency in Buildings will bring together professionals from around the globe to the Asilomar Conference Grounds to share research\, spark new ideas and collaborations\, and advance the technologies and practices needed to transform the building sector to improve efficiency\, affordability\, and resiliency. \nEfficiency Innovations: Improving Affordability and Resiliency is the theme of this 24th biennial event.  Together we’ll tackle today’s pressing challenges related to buildings’ energy use: increasing electricity demand due to data centers\, air-conditioning\, and new construction; rising costs of energy bills and property insurance; and the growing risks of power outages\, health and safety concerns\, and property damage from aging power grid infrastructure and extreme weather events.  This is our opportunity to leverage new innovative technologies\, AI\, and business models for designing\, constructing\, operating\, or retrofitting our buildings to be energy efficient\, affordable to own and operate\, and resilient to hazards.

SUMMARY:Strategic Decarbonization for Large Commercial Buildings
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an essential deep dive into the future of Minnesota’s built environment. Achieving Minnesota’s 2050 net-zero goals is an urgent priority\, but for the commercial sector\, it remains a complex\, long-term challenge. Moving beyond simple\, measure-by-measure efficiency improvements\, this webinar explores the shift toward integrated\, strategic planning that aligns technical decarbonization solutions with financial and operational realities. \nWhile some buildings can transition with limited intervention\, the majority of Minnesota’s commercial stock falls into the moderate-to-difficult-to-decarbonize category. These buildings require coordinated planning\, specific sequencing\, and deep stakeholder engagement to succeed. \n What You Will Learn: This webinar will unpack the “needs” and “how-tos” of strategic decarbonization based on four primary research areas: \n\nStakeholder Engagement: Understanding how owners\, facility operators\, and program managers perceive the hurdles and opportunities in the field.\nMarket Characterization: Identifying which building segments in Minnesota require strategic approaches and determining their specific technical needs.\nBest Practices: Strategies and tools to guide technical and capital planning to meet state emissions goals.\nA New Tool Kit: A preview of resources designed for utilities and policymakers to achieve ECO program energy savings and statewide GHG reduction goals.\n\nEquip yourself with the insights needed to turn decarbonization goals into actionable reality.

SUMMARY:Building Connections: Resources for BEPS Planning & Building Upgrades
DESCRIPTION:The Maryland Clean Buildings Hub\, an initiative of the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA)\, invites Maryland’s building owners and managers to attend Building Connections. Building Connections brings together building owners\, operators\, regulators\, incentive providers\, and other stakeholders to learn about resources that can be leveraged to meet the State Building Energy Performance Standards (BEPS) targets as well as other building decarbonization goals. Goals of this event include: \n\n\n\nEducating owners and managers of BEPS-covered buildings about the range of funding\, financing\, and technical assistance options available to leverage\, \n\n\nUnveiling new funding and technical assistance programs\, including the Maryland Energy Administration’s Fiscal Year 2027 Commercial Buildings Program\, the BEPS Technical Assistance Program\, and the BEPS Affordable Housing Roadmap Program\, and \n\n\nKnowledge-sharing between building owners and managers\, state agencies\, nonprofits\, and other stakeholders
